AustralAsia 2016 @Surabaya 23 August - 02 September 2016
1.BOOK YOUR FLIGHT from your origin either non stop to Surabaya, or buy a ticket all the way to Surabaya with a transit in Jakarta or Denpasar (Bali). IPSC Indonesia will have Meet ‘n Greet people stationed at each of those three Indonesian airports to assist you.
2. If Possible please buy two separate tickets (origin to Indonesia, with a separate domestic ticket to Surabaya), because you need to disembark and clear your guns and ammo at your first Indonesian port of arrival. Our people will be there to assist you in Jakarta or Denpasar if you do so, but there’s a good chance you might miss your domestic connection due to the processing time, so please make the domestic flight booking at least 3 hours after your arrival. However, if you can check your bags all the way through to Surabaya, that’s where you will clear Police and Customs. It will be a considerably more efficient and stress-free experience (please check the airlines gun and ammo regulations).
3. Once your guns and ammo have been cleared, they will be escorted by Indonesian Police to the shooting range, where they will be stored. As usual, you will be given a receipt on surrender. You can collect them each day before shooting, and you must return them to the armoury at the end of each day after you’ve conducted cleaning and maintenance while you are still at the range.
4. DO NOT TRANSIT other regional hubs like Hong Kong or Singapore if you’re traveling with guns and/or ammo, because those cities are not fully geared up to handle firearms and ammo, even items in transit. Travelers from North America might be OK transiting Japan, but make your own enquiries with the airline you intend to use.
5. The Official Match Ammo will be Pindad and Armscor. You can place your order online during Match Registration, which will expect will open mid March, and will close end April.
6. Do not order or bring excess ammo. Your journey on the way home from Indonesia will be much smoother if you’re only transporting guns. In other words, when it comes to ammo, “Use it or lose it”. This includes empty cases. This will be a “lost brass” match.
7. We’re still working on the logistics for people who might want to spend a few days in Bali on the way home. We hope that we can have your guns temporarily stored with Police in Denpasar while you’re surfing at Kuta, but this is yet to be confirmed.
